Permissions Post: Zone of TMI
Oct. 3rd, 2018 10:53 amPoe is getting a new power!
Zone of TMI will cause (at the other player's choosing) characters to randomly blurt out information or truths that they would probably never otherwise choose to divulge, whether they be relevant to the current conversation or not. Poe will start out having Absolutely No Control over this ability, and it will sometimes effect him as well. Eventually he will learn to feel it coming (and be able to warn people to cover their mouths, or leave, etc), and then to be able to use it intentionally (with permission of the other player, and the 'truth' they tell will be at their discretion). He will never be able to press for a particular type of information, this power is meant to be incredibly silly and cause drama and be otherwise unhelpful.
Now, basically this power is an opt-in, whenever the other player feels like it sort-of-thing. But I figured a permissions / explanation post was probably in order, anyway.
If you have any questions, feel free to reply to this post!
You don't have to post here to say that your character is immune to it - since you choose when Zone of TMI triggers, you can simply choose to have it never trigger. If you're super into it, though, and would like to use it to cause Utter Shenanigans for your character, please feel free to plot here!
UPDATE, ADDED POWER: 'We are the Spark'
By snapping his fingers together, Poe acts like a human spark plug. The spark can do two things. One, it can do whatever a spark can do, which ... I mean, if there's gas around, he can light it. Maybe he can help a car engine. Or like... provide .02 seconds of dim light. In other words, not a lot, you're better off getting a lighter. However, the second part of this ability is inspiration. If Poe points at someone and snaps his fingers, he can inspire people to acts of courage they would not normally be able to achieve. It doesn't give them any powers, just makes them a lot braver, no matter the circumstances. It does have an effect on adrenaline, so for normal people, they might find they can lift things they couldn't otherwise lift, or run a little faster than they would be able to otherwise - but only within the limits that a normal burst of adrenaline would give a person.
