Finn very intentionally took longer to reach their destination than Poe. He was going to give the man a moment to adjust to the fact his son had apparently undergone an assault in the last hour before Finn saw his face. It probably wasn't that big a deal- Poe was a grown man, and Finn couldn't believe for an instant he hadn't had his share of adventures while a teenager still living under Kes' roof. But that was all easier to think about than the emotional ride he'd requested the men go on.
