[He pulls an arm tight around her, hugging her to his chest, and leans in to kiss the top of her head, despite himself.]

Yeah, well, you're probably right. I can try, though. Or pretend.

I am definitely never worried about you.

See? I can be convincing.

[She makes a contented sound, relaxing against him. This was nice. ]

Oh yeah, I am absolutely convinced by that.

[Bela chuckles and snuggles closer, if it's even possible.]

Does this mean I have to worry about you? Because I can.

Not in the slightest. I have enough people worried about me.

[He ran a hand through her hair. He knew this was probably a booty call, but - well. He wasn't going anywhere fast.]

You can be completely callous about my eventual demise.

I don't know if I could do that.

[Joking aside, she doesn't want to hear the word demise and Poe said in the same sentence again.]

What's one more person to worry about you, Poe?

[Her hand reaches up to touch his cheek, not even the least bit shy with it.]

[Another person I have to worry about breaking when I die, he thought, but he didn't say it. He felt bad enough for the demise comment, especially considering the circumstances. So she didn't really need to hear about how he basically expected to die every day. Probably not a conversation for today.

He tilted his head down to that touch, smiling at her.]

Well, I guess it's not that bad, all things considered. I'm just not great at being careful, so don't expect it.

[Talking about death, either hers or possibly his wasn't ideal. She could only imagine the danger he put himself in everyday back in his universe. Bela rarely got into a life or death situation, and if she did, she always had a way to get out of it.

She kept her hand where it was, smiling in return.]

Okay. I'll remember that. [Still hoping that he doesn't get himself killed though.] Can we just talk about silly things instead of being all maudlin?

We're going to be in space and as someone who's never been there before, I'm kind of excited.

[Did you want to see Poe's face light up, Bela? Because it is. The grin is spreading easily.]

You're going to love it. Just wish I could take you even further off planet. You'd probably like Yavin.

[Though he chuckles a little.] Not that it's out there anyway, but you know what I mean.

[He grinned.] Plus, it sounds like we're going to be in zero gee for the majority of the time. I should warn you - there's a lot of stuff that doesn't work as well as you'd hope in zero g.

Yeah, I wish you could do that too, but suppose I'll just have to settle being in a space station instead.

[She does know what he meant. And she also hopes that she loves it, even with the risks.]

Things like what? Since you brought it up, I have to know now so I can prepare myself.

[But hey, he's smiling. That's a good thing.]

Well, anything involving a friction, for example... Any kind of rocking motion-- [He grins wickedly at her.]

You'd think that sex in space would be amazing - and it is - but not in zero gee. Mostly it just ends up with someone being accidentally pushed into a bulkhead and needing to go to the infirmary.

[She finds herself laughing, imagination running wild at the thought of having sex in space.]

You know, that did actually cross my mind, but ouch. I don't even know if there will be an infirmary on board so maybe I should be careful. [A wink. She's teasing.]

What about sleep? Is it difficult to do in zero gee?

Not really. Not if you strap yourself in. The weirdest part is dealing with how most of your blood goes to your head. So everyone looks like they're flushed, all the time.

Your body isn't as used to circulating it, without gravity.

Right. That makes sense. I'm glad to have a friend who's an expert on all things space related.

[Instead of reaching for her glass, Bela grabs the bottle instead and takes a swig, holding it out to him.]

The food will probably be in those weird containers - the vacuum sealed ones. God, I hope there's alcohol on board.

[Poe happily takes the bottle, and takes a drink himself, giving her a little squeeze around the shoulders as he did so.]

Look, it's the best way to eat. All you have to do is grab a packet and you're ready to go - no muss, no fuss, and look you now have ice cream.

But don't worry. Peter and I already have a plan about the alcohol.

Yeah, but I probably wouldn't enjoy the ice cream as much.

[Bela reaches for the bottle and drinks from it, snuggling in against him. He's warm and comfortable.]

Good for you and Peter. I've only really spoken to him the once, but he seems like a nice guy.

Am I allowed to know this plan?
