You've reached Poe Dameron. I'm off flying something or trying not to get killed, so go ahead and leave a message and I'll get back to you eventually.

Well.
That didn't mean he was going to say no, if she did.
So there was about a ten minute delay as he considered it, and then finally texted her.]
Yeah.
Yeah, I could definitely go for a night cap.
Your place, or the shop?
text
If he wanted to, then Bela was definitely game.]
The shop. I haven't really been to it properly in a while.
Plus, I still have that juke box
Re: text
[Yeah. The dying thing. Was not something he really wanted to think about, at the moment, at least not now that Bela seemed Better - or at least, alive - and giving her something else to think about? Was totally alright by him.]
Alright. See you there in an hour.
[He takes the porter, mostly because it would take him hours to fly, but he takes the carpet with him so that once he gets there he can just hop on it and fly straight to the shop. Everything around it is shut down for the night, but that doesn't stop Poe from walking up to the door and giving it a knock.]

[She's cleared some space in the shop to put some large cushions and blankets down - a kind of makeshift seating area. There was no room for a couch, but what she's put together should suffice. The lights are off. Instead, there are enough candles dotted around to give the room a nice, warm glow.
Bela had just finished lighting the last candle when she heard the knock at the front door, going immediately to answer it.]
Hi. [She smiles at Poe, gesturing for him to come inside.]
no subject
Hey. [He steps in, letting her close the door behind him.]
Is it just me, or did this place get comfier since the last time I was here?
no subject
[A grin, before she makes her way to the make shift seating area, grabbing a bottle of whiskey and fills up two glasses that were resting on a small coffee table nearby.]
Comfier is nice though, don't you think? [Bela picks up the glasses, holding one out to him.] Sit wherever you like.
no subject
Hey, I'm not complaining. [He grins as he takes the glass and then takes a seat, lounging easily over several pillows, patting the seat beside him.]
You look like you're doing better.
no subject
I am. Doing better, I mean. [Her smile softens.] I spent some time with a friend in De Chima and people have been very supportive.
no subject
Good. [He'd heard they'd caught the guy, but he doesn't say that out loud.]
Maybe I can stop worrying about you so much.
no subject
Maybe. But knowing you, I don't think you will. [It's a compliment.] So I don't mind if you do.
no subject
Yeah, well, you're probably right. I can try, though. Or pretend.
I am definitely never worried about you.
See? I can be convincing.
no subject
Oh yeah, I am absolutely convinced by that.
[Bela chuckles and snuggles closer, if it's even possible.]
Does this mean I have to worry about you? Because I can.
no subject
[He ran a hand through her hair. He knew this was probably a booty call, but - well. He wasn't going anywhere fast.]
You can be completely callous about my eventual demise.
no subject
[Joking aside, she doesn't want to hear the word demise and Poe said in the same sentence again.]
What's one more person to worry about you, Poe?
[Her hand reaches up to touch his cheek, not even the least bit shy with it.]
no subject
He tilted his head down to that touch, smiling at her.]
Well, I guess it's not that bad, all things considered. I'm just not great at being careful, so don't expect it.
no subject
She kept her hand where it was, smiling in return.]
Okay. I'll remember that. [Still hoping that he doesn't get himself killed though.] Can we just talk about silly things instead of being all maudlin?
We're going to be in space and as someone who's never been there before, I'm kind of excited.
no subject
You're going to love it. Just wish I could take you even further off planet. You'd probably like Yavin.
[Though he chuckles a little.] Not that it's out there anyway, but you know what I mean.
[He grinned.] Plus, it sounds like we're going to be in zero gee for the majority of the time. I should warn you - there's a lot of stuff that doesn't work as well as you'd hope in zero g.
no subject
[She does know what he meant. And she also hopes that she loves it, even with the risks.]
Things like what? Since you brought it up, I have to know now so I can prepare myself.
[But hey, he's smiling. That's a good thing.]
no subject
Well, anything involving a friction, for example... Any kind of rocking motion-- [He grins wickedly at her.]
You'd think that sex in space would be amazing - and it is - but not in zero gee. Mostly it just ends up with someone being accidentally pushed into a bulkhead and needing to go to the infirmary.
no subject
You know, that did actually cross my mind, but ouch. I don't even know if there will be an infirmary on board so maybe I should be careful. [A wink. She's teasing.]
What about sleep? Is it difficult to do in zero gee?
no subject
Your body isn't as used to circulating it, without gravity.
no subject
[Instead of reaching for her glass, Bela grabs the bottle instead and takes a swig, holding it out to him.]
The food will probably be in those weird containers - the vacuum sealed ones. God, I hope there's alcohol on board.
no subject
[Poe happily takes the bottle, and takes a drink himself, giving her a little squeeze around the shoulders as he did so.]
Look, it's the best way to eat. All you have to do is grab a packet and you're ready to go - no muss, no fuss, and look you now have ice cream.
But don't worry. Peter and I already have a plan about the alcohol.
no subject
[Bela reaches for the bottle and drinks from it, snuggling in against him. He's warm and comfortable.]
Good for you and Peter. I've only really spoken to him the once, but he seems like a nice guy.
Am I allowed to know this plan?
