You've reached Poe Dameron. I'm off flying something or trying not to get killed, so go ahead and leave a message and I'll get back to you eventually.

[He sighs.]
not sure talking is going to fix anything, Kay. Not right now.

Others will blame you for upsetting Odin. You also are most likely blaming yourself.
This was a no-win situation collectively, if you were being honest about your reasoning. This statement of fact isn't going to make you feel better right now either, but I think it's something you should hear to remember later.

[He isn't sure what he expected Kay to say, but there's a long, long pause before he finally replies.]
trust me, wishing pretty hard that I had figured out a way to lie instead.
it's not - you're right, but you're missing some key information, Kay
[And another incredibly long pause.]
I already knew. Or, well. Suspected. And I just pretended like if it didn't come up, it wouldn't matter
organics are messy, Kay. Avoid if you can.
no subject
I'm not missing that information. It was obvious if one pays attention.
You were incorrect for letting things proceed when you knew the original agreement had been broken. As was he. That was where you went wrong.
It's a little too late to avoid messy organic relationships, since that's a majority of mine.
no subject
Oh.
[Well, great. He felt miserable enough that the silence stretched for a little while.
that obvious, huh
still. Sorry you had to see that.

You don't need to apologize. To me.
no subject
Well, I'll keep doing supremely idiotic things up here so that you can fill out your dossier on me.
I need to apologize to someone - or someones but damn if I have any idea how to do that
no subject
I would recommend not doing so right now. Or within the next immediate twenty-four hours.
Do you like to read?
no subject
don't worry I wouldn't know where to start even if I wanted to, so
but thanks. For this. I usually couldn't sit still long enough to make reading really worthwhile, but I think I'd better lay low for a bit
no subject
If you would like some reading recommendations, I have a few.
no subject
pretty sure the real question is if he will ever want to be friends again with me or not
i am not in the habit of wanting to abandon my friends, regardless of the reason
[He sighs, audibly, his eyes opening to stare at the ceiling (floor?) above him.]
yeah. Hit me.

Here are my book recommendations.
[Sending attached files:
gullivers_travels.pdf
frankenstein.pdf]
no subject
oh, good, boundaries, I excel at those
[He opens the files. He doesn't recognize either of them, but:]
didn't realise you had been getting into earth fiction
no subject
I initially started with one called "I, Robot." I decided to branch out from there. It only takes me an hour at most to finish a book less than 500 pages, if it's a digital file.
no subject
I am never sarcastic I don't know what you're talking about
I, Robot? That-- sounds like something right up your alley, yeah. I mean, it makes sense that you'd read I guess I just never thought about it. So what are these about
no subject
It's a collection of stories about robot sentience, from the perspective of an Earth that didn't even have robots. It's interesting, if a little unsettling in it's predictions.
Frankenstein is about a scientist attempting to create life by assembling a creature from body parts of the deceased. Gulliver's Travels is about a man who travels to different lands, and he is physically alien to the natives in terms of size and appearance. Both are metaphors about being alienated in a society for different reasons, but overall, being feared.
I thought they would be interesting to help keep your thoughts elsewhere.
no subject
I would never
[There's a pause as he reads the descriptions, and a look that is both thankful and warm spreads over his face. If tired. The tv viewing public likely have no idea what they are even seeing.]
so they're kind of about you, then
no subject
That
was not my intent with my recommendations.
I had read them because they sounded interesting.
[Interesting, to him, because they were relatable to a degree, yes. Frankenstein maybe a little more so than Gulliver, but.]
I can find others to send you instead.
no subject
No. These are good.
they'll be distracting and then you can tell me what you liked about them, later.
at the very least, it means I'll get to know you better, right?
no subject
And... yes, I suppose at the very least, you would know what kind of books I've been reading. If you have any books you like here, I would be interested in knowing which ones.
no subject
there's some music here i like, though.
no subject
no subject
but no, i mean music that actually
hm
it's the kind of stuff i would listen to after a mission and i just needed to unwind and relax by myself
well and bb8 but you know what i mean
no subject
Yes, I would like to hear that.
